Residents of Ithaca, NY now have a place to relax and hang out with cute cats thanks to Alley Cat Cafe. The cafe serves coffee and tea, along with pastries and lunch fare such as soups and sandwiches.
Separate from the cafe space is the cat room, where visitors can watch and play with adorable and adoptable cats and kittens from Browncoat Cat Rescue. The owner, who has worked with rescue cats for almost 20 years, opened the business in hopes that it would be easily accessible to people looking to adopt a furry friend.
In the future, the cafe plans to host special events where you can take yoga or knit with the kitties. In the meantime, you can visit the cafe 6 days a week from 7:30am to 7pm. They are closed on Wednesdays. The cat room’s hours are a bit more limited, open from 11am to 6:30pm, and there is a $5 fee for every half hour in the space.
