The owner, Tracey Malcolmson, has announced that Purrple Cat Cafe will open at 2 Trongate in the Merchant City! She revealed to fans that the space is “a lovely, listed 1920s building on the corner of High Street and Trongate, which used to house a Bank of Scotland branch.” She also added that the interior still needs some work, but they remain on track to open at the end of July.

The 3,000 sq ft space will give the kitties lots of room to move around and explore. Cats Bear, Whiskey, and Billy are already settled into the Kittyhouse and are soon to be joined by 4 more Ragdolls named Gabriel, Gilbert, Harry and Tilly, who were rescued by Scottish charity Catflap.

Be sure to follow all of Purrple Cat Cafe’s progress on their Facebook page!

Other Scotland cat cafes Maison de Moggy and The Cat in the Window Cafe opened in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
